Summer Camp iSTEAM Educator

Term Dates:

July 3, 2023 - August 25, 2023

Hours:

8 Hours shift between
7:30 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday

Location:

Tuxedo Park Community Association and Hall
202 29 Ave NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2C1

Position Summary

To engage children and youth in creative iSTEAM summer camp learning experiences that ignite curiosity, foster relationships and competencies with Human/Technology interactions, while building a diverse community of capable learners through empowered play.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate

Responsibilities

  • **Must be a resident of Calgary or surrounding areas**

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Minimum of Standard First Aid CPR-C (or willing to obtain)

  • Clear Police Check with Vulnerable Sector (or willing to obtain)

  • has experience with robotics, coding, and other iSTEAM skills as they related to 5-12 year olds. Technology can include:

    • Lego Mindstorm​

    • Sphero

    • Graphic Design

    • VR & 3D Technologies

    • Meta Quest

    • Arduino

  • has experience in education and/or summer camps

  • is hardworking, flexible, and compassionate

  • will ensure the safety of all children under their care

  • works well under stress and in difficult situations

  • has a Growth Mindset

  • is a team player

  • Supervising and implementing CMCI's iSTEAM Summer Camp Curriculum

  • Provide a safe environment for children.

  • Supervise children to ensure their health and safety.

  • Ensure that all areas of the facility are maintained in a sanitary and orderly manner.
