Dubai: ALIG Educational & Welfare Society and Coded Minds have tied up with iSTEAM for providing technical training to students of government schools from six Indian cities.

ALIG and Coded Minds, Indian NGOs, in partnership with Dubai-based international technology company, iSTEAM, would run an eight-week course, enabling school students to get hands-on learning experience in animation and app development. This innovative pedagogical approach is the first-of-its-kind where students of government schools in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bengal will be receiving technology education from an international company through online classes.

Gulf Today: Indian NGO to provide iSTEAM education from UAE

Indian NGO Alig Educational and Welfare Society has tied up with Dubai-based international iSTEAM and technology company, Coded Minds, for the training of government school students from Class 5 to Class 10 spread across six cities in India.

The eight-week courses for animation and App development will start from July 1 and will be available in Jamshedpur, Lucknow, Aligarh, Moradabad, Barabanki and Kolkata in English Communication. As a pilot initiative, 70 students have been selected for the programme and more students will be added in the second phase of this initiative.

ARAB News: In UAE, affordable school brings new hope for Pakistani students

DUBAI: Hundreds of students with financial constraints, a majority of them Pakistanis, are waiting in line for enrollment in Dubai’s Hope Academy since it opened its doors just over a month ago.

Over 250 children– from kindergarten level to the 8th grade– are currently studying at the affordable, community-based school, in a country where school fees are otherwise considered the second highest in the world, according to a 2017 HSBC study.

Arab News: Arab Countries Need to Improve Education Systems, Says UN official

DUBAI: Arab countries need to improve their education systems, a leading UN official has said, with only the UAE performing impressively in the sector. 

“So far the UAE has appeared as a leader in knowledge not just in the Arab countries but also across Asia. No other country has performed so well as the way UAE has done and continues to do that,” he told Arab News. “The reason can be the quality of teachers, corruption, using resources in the right manner, quality of students. All these factors count for a lot.” 

“We need to use technology to improve social and communication skills. Teachers cannot be replaced by robots. However, robots can help teachers to perform better.”

Gulf Business: Dubai’s Coded Minds Acquires US-Based Education Company
