Internet Practices to Take Your Education to the Next Level:

The internet is a powerful tool for growing your mind and learning new subjects. With how pervasive programs and websites are that don’t promote much learning, it is more important than ever to realize and use the potential of the world wide web for acquiring knowledge and skills. In this blog post, I will discuss how crucial online learning is, how certifications can be gained, and how the internet can be used for supplemental learning in conjunction with in-person schooling.

The Importance of Online Learning

In today’s ever-changing world, being able to access educational resources 24/7 is critical. Whether you’re working a day job or want to learn some extra subjects after school, it’s essential to be able to access the resources you need when you need them. Additionally, with the uncertainty of lockdowns and the future of in-person schooling in general in question, online learning is here to stay and easier than ever to access.

Online learning provides opportunities for students to be able to access live classes from the comfort and safety of their own homes. Without having to commute to an in-person lesson, individuals can save valuable time and money that they can devote to other important ventures. Similarly, teachers also benefit from this by having more time to prepare lessons and grade assignments. You can save on costs, time, and energy by shifting your education online.

Certifications

One of the key factors of online learning is the easy nature of acquiring certifications and diplomas. Instead of scheduling lessons and tests, students can study at their own pace and gain a broad range of certifications for every conceivable subject. For example, when looking for employment, I decided to bolster my skills and resume by completing various certifications. I took online courses and tests on Google Analytics, Search Engine Optimization, Email Marketing, IT, and so much more that all contributed to my skills and career options! Because of the ease of access and low costs, I was able to get new certifications daily from the comfort of my living room couch! All of it contributed to my specialization and allowed me to get better at skills I didn’t even know I had! At one point in time, I thought that all I would have to do is go to college, get a degree, and I would be set for life. But with how fast technology and the world develop, it is critically important to stay fresh on the newest software and techniques. And online certifications allow you to show your employer/future employer what you know and what you are capable of outside of regular schooling.

Some websites I like for learning new skills and subjects are Udemy, Ed2Go, and Coursera. Additionally, several prestigious institutions offer their courses online, such as MIT. You can learn and get certified from some of the top schools in the world for a fraction of what it would cost to attend!

Supplemental Learning

Another fantastic use of internet education is supplemental learning to in-person schooling. Garnering knowledge from a class is amazing! But they won’t necessarily always cover all aspects of the topic they teach. This is where online learning can also come in: as a supplement to in-person learning. Say you go to class and learn about coding. They might teach you the basic functions and uses of various phrases, loops, and the like. But maybe you want to learn a very specific use for a piece of coding you learned? That is where you can use Google or YouTube to research precisely what you want to learn and use the information you got from your class as a springboard into a new world of information. All the while taking your knowledge even farther than from just what you learned from the in-person course.

Final Thoughts

Online learning is one of the best ways to acquire information and skills. With the way our planet is shifting, it doesn’t appear digital education will be going anywhere anytime soon. The benefits of taking your schooling online are numerous. Not only that, but online learning can also be utilized for bolstering your existing schooling, getting qualifications you couldn’t normally get, and provide for a very easy content delivery system. If you haven’t fully implemented online learning into your education, I strongly recommend adding it to whatever form of learning you do!
