Use these 3 Methods to Kickstart Your Day

The start of the day can often be the most important part of how the whole day goes. It sets the tone, prepares the mind and body for what is to come, and can make or break how well the day plays out. Have a bad morning, and it has the potential to negatively affect your day. Start your morning right, and you just might find that you have an amazing and productive day! Preparing your mind for the day’s events will help you orchestrate the perfect day.

In this blog post, I’m going to detail three different ways that you can use that will kickstart your day and prepare you for the things to come! This will calm your mind, improve your focus, and boost productivity. Each of these methods should be done immediately upon waking up and before starting the day’s tasks and checking your phone! All three together can take as long or as little as you want, but I’ve found that 20-30 minutes total works great!

Gratitude

The first method is to practice gratitude. This will begin your new kickstarting morning routine! What does this look like? First, grab a notebook and a pen. Next, sit down and write three things you are grateful for in your life. It could be your significant other, your career, house, friends, dog, or anything that you are truly thankful for. After you write down each line, reflect on the thing that brings you joy. Think about how great it is and how lucky you are. This process will only take five minutes, but you will find yourself feeling so much more positive about life throughout the day! It allows you to appreciate what you have, de-stress over the stuff you don’t have, and make you generally happier. It’s such a quick and simple exercise, but it has incredible benefits!

Meditation

The next exercise is to practice meditation for 5-10 minutes. This will clear your mind and release any negative thoughts or anxieties you may have. To do it, simply sit down in a comfortable place free of distractions and close your eyes. Focus on your breathing. Feel the air go through your lungs, chest, throat, and nose. Allow yourself to clear your mind. Don’t think about anything specific. If a thought pops into your head, just acknowledge it and let it go. Let your mind be free of any anxiety or stress as you continue to focus on your breathing. A good starting method is to do this for 25 breaths. When you’re comfortable with that, set a timer for 10 minutes and practice breathing with your eyes closed until the alarm goes off. Slowly open your eyes again. And that’s all there is to it! Studies have shown that even meditating for a few minutes a day can dramatically affect your self-esteem, stress levels, empathy, and anxiety after just a few weeks! Give it a try and watch yourself be elevated to a higher state of living!

Journaling

The final method is to journal. Grab another notebook and pen. After you do your gratitude and meditation exercises, write down all of your thoughts and feelings. Take just five minutes to write down how you feel and anything that pops into your mind. This allows you to get everything in your brain on paper and visualize your thoughts and feelings. Additionally, write down five things you could accomplish that would make the day a success. By writing down some basic goals for the day, you are much more likely to complete them! Give it a go and see how it works for you!

I hope these three methods will help you kickstart your day and make it an amazing and productive one! Practicing gratitude, meditation, and journaling, will put your mind at ease and prepare it for the day ahead. It only takes a few minutes each morning, and the benefits are enormous! So try these exercises out and see how well they work for you!

Until next time,
